Jimmy Greenspoon is perhaps best known as the keyboardist for Three Dog Night, the popular rock band launched in the late 60’s that enjoyed great commercial success in the 70’s and continues to record and tour today. He co-authored an autobiographical book about the band’s experiences entitled One Is the Loneliest Number: On the Road and Behind the Scenes With the Legendary Rock Band Three Dog Night.
Greenspoon grew up in Beverly Hills. The son of beloved mother, Mary O’Brien, a renowned silent film star who once roomed with a young Joan Crawford, he studied classical piano with Harry Fields at the age of seven and attended the prestigious Hollywood Professional School with childhood friend, Academy award-winning producer, Michael Lloyd, with whom he enjoyed his first chart success with the popular Southern California Surf Band, The New Dimensions. Jimmy is still one of the most highly respected keyboard players in the business.
Greenspoon serves as an Entertainment and Media Consultant with the MurryWood Foundation and composed original music for the movie Fragment, produced by Lloyd Levin, United 93, Hellboy, Watchmen, Field of Dreams, Predator, and Die Hard. Most recently he has been collaborating with Emmy Award Winning composer Neil Argo. Greenspoon is very excited to supervise the music and compose the score for the feature film Sins of the Midnight Sons.
